About Us

Our Business

Colorado Popcorn Company is a gourmet popcorn manufacturer, wholesaler and local retailer located in Sterling, Colorado that was established in 1987.  We create over 20 gourmet popcorn flavors currently being sold throughout the state of Colorado in numerous grocery stores, gift shops, and hotels.

Our History

In 1987, two friends Kathy Littler and Sherry Brammer became business partners and purchased a local Sterling popcorn business.  After being partners for a couple years, it was time for a change for Sherry, so Kathy took the reins of their business as the sole owner and proprietor of the growing business.  At the time, Colorado Popcorn Company was manufacturing and selling five different flavors of popcorn in a small store along Main Street in downtown Sterling, Colorado.

Soon thereafter, the company moved to a larger facility in order to expand.  Although the original five flavors were very popular, there was a demand for new specialty varieties.  Customer suggestions and ideas were used in creating new recipes, and Colorado Popcorn is now producing over 20 flavors of gourmet popcorn!  Additionally, Kathy added helium filled balloons to the local retail store, including her famous "Balloon Arch" that is constructed for many activities and events around the Sterling region.

After more than thirty years of successful operations, Kathy Littler decided it was time to retire from the popcorn business.  Her hope was to find someone with the same passion for popcorn that had sustained her work for the past three decades to take over the reigns at Colorado Popcorn.  In addition, they had to be willing to continue the legacy by keeping the manufacturing in Sterling.  She did find someone that fit the bill and in September 2017 turned the reigns over to Zachary Souffrant and Breanna Kelsch.  Brea and Zac along with the support of their parents and family look forward to continuing and growing the legacy of Colorado Popcorn in Northeast Colorado!
